Kindermusik FAQ
What do I do when I get to class?
Please arrive 5-10 minutes before class to relax and gather with other parents and babies. (This may not suit some children’s energy levels please adapt for your child).
Please use bathroom facilities for carer and children to wash hands before entering the class room. Sharing happens on so many levels!
Comfortable dress for carer and child, as classes involve movement and floor activities.
Please remove all shoes and socks (carer and child). The skin on the bottoms of the feet is especially sensitive, allowing lots of sensory input for baby/child. We have lino and carpet surfaces, if the parent chooses to use socks please ensure they have grip on the underside.
What do parents do in class?
Parent interaction is highly valued in Kindermusik education, it is you who provide all the model behaviours. Copy the teacher, follow instructions and love the music. During class please maintain your focus towards your child, lead them in each activity with your body and voice. You are your child’s first and most influential teacher. Lead and they will follow.
Please take the time each week to help your family explore our new musical concepts through listening, moving, creating and singing in your home environment.
What about phones and smart watches?
Please turn off all mobile phones and switch your smart watch to silence all notifications; Music Circle is a special time to be fully focused on your child. What you project they absorb. Sometimes we will ask you to bring your phone if we need to assist you in accessing the Kindermusik online materials. If so all devices are to be on silent.
What about food in class?
If baby needs a feed before or during class please do so (bottle and breast fed only, no spoon or finger food please) keeping in mind movement activities may need to be reduced to allow proper digestion.
What do we need to bring to Kindermusic Class?
Lap babies and crawlers – you may like to bring a baby rug/blanket to enjoy our massage time. Central rug is provided.
Please resist bringing any toys dummies or comforters to class.
Less is best, if you can walk in with child and keys you are ensuring value and reduced distraction.
How do I access the music for my Kindermusik classes?

Registering at my.kindermusik.com – It’s easy and takes less than a minute and provides access on computers, mobile devices, and tablets. When you receive the email from Kindermusik:
- Click on the link to my.kindermusik.com.
- Select “New User.”
- Enter name and email address, using the same email address as on the email received from Kindermusik.
- Set a password and security questions. 5. Click on “Create Account” then “Log in!”
Enjoy! Kindermusik@Home is easy for you.
What if we are sick?
Please consider the health of others do not attend if yourself your baby/child are unwell. Please email us if you are unsure. The same policy as Childcare/ school facilities applies. This also extends to siblings off sick from school or day care. Please rest your family and arrange a make up class.
What is the make up policy for Kindermusik levels?
Make up classes are available only with prior notification of absence. If no prior notification is received class is forfeited.
Make ups must be scheduled within 4 weeks of your missed class.
Only available where there is a place in a suitable class and agreed with educator. Limits of 3 make up classes per teaching term apply.
How do monthly payments work out for Kindermusik classes?
All accounts must be up to date for class attendance to continue. Steps will be taken to follow up on unpaid accounts should transactions fail.
All classes for Newborn – 5yrs are charged with monthly fee. We find with families maintaining enrolment for 2 – 5 years it is easy to manage the budget in little regular chunks.We annualise the cost, divide it in to 12 equal payments.
Think of it this way – Each time 3 payments occurs a term of 9 classes and Kindermusik online is paid for.

April, May, June = Term 2
July, August, Sep = Term 3
Oct, Nov Dec =Term 4
Who do I ask about accounts?
Our classroom is for teaching. If you have an account enquiry please email.
How do I end our commitment to class?
30-days notice via email is required to end your enrolment. All payments falling within this 30 day period will be processed. All classes within this period from our teaching calendar are available to you. All fees are non-refundable.
What about Photographs & Video in class?
Photographs or video may be taken during class for promotional purposes. We will always request permission in writing either electronically or via a form from the parent/guardian of the child involved.
We have a highly interactive social pages for our Music Circle Studios families to share and interact. At time parents/guardians may choose to upload images/video of their child onto our pages, automatically providing Music Circle Studios and Kindermusik International the right to use the media for marketing/example purposes.
What If I miss a special pricing offer?
Specials and discount are available at time of offer no extensions will be available.
Do I have to buy materials?
If it is required, it is included in the listed price. Additional purchase of instruments and learning aids are at the parents discretions.
We care
All instruments used in class have been cleaned (Milton/antibacterial wipes/soap & water) before each class. Wipes hand sanitiser and tissues will be provided for in class use, please help yourself anytime.

Why is the Kindermusik program at Music Circle Studios different?
Kindermusik International has developed an outstanding framework with a comprehensive early childhood development program with music at its core. Our focus is to enhance musical element inclusion.
Singing for the children and then the children singing with us. Subsequently this builds musical skills within the child. Careful planning and time is taken and we work through the required basic skills for musical success, beat, meter and contrast throughout life.
What if my child has special needs?
Diversity is the human experience. Come sing dance and play! Speak to your educator before your first session and inform them with all the knowledge your child has shown you. You know your child, we know music. It is our intention to work closely to meet the needs of all musicians. With this information we will make sure our classes are the highlight of your week.
What do I need to bring to classes?
Less is best, if you attend a Music Circle Studios class enter with your child and car keys – that’s it! If you attend musicianship or instrumental your teacher will specify books and materials required at every lesson.
Can I bring siblings to classes?
Sibling attendance is at the discretion of the educator. Please specify your needs and we will confirm with you before a sibling attends. We aim to include as many as we can and each setting has different requirements. We will always consider the welfare of enrolled students first and include everyone in a workable manner.
What happens if my child gets sick?
Notify before you miss a class via email on the contact page. Please schedule a make up class online.
What happens if we are away for extended period of time?
Attend multiple classes before you go or schedule additional classes on your return if you need less than 3 weeks off. If you are away for more than this period contact us via email on the contact page.
Is it home based or in a music studio?
Classes are held in a studio setting, current locations include Cleveland and Thornlands. Underwood classes beginning 2020.
What payment methods do you accept?
We choose to offer per term and monthly payments through our gateway using Stripe. Booking online allows us to use our time to teach and connect with students. If you require an invoice to pay via direct transfer additional fees apply.
Can I purchase Music Circle Studios class music online?
All online materials are inclusive of your class pricing and are allocated at the time of use in your classes. Missing a unit? Please email us via the contact page and request the missing unit of study.
Can I purchase Music Circle Studios instruments cd’s, props and books at class?
We aim to have instruments, books and resources periodically available at class. If you have seen something you like let us know and we can organise supply. Place your request via the contact page.
Piano FAQ
Do I have to book for the year or can I book per term?
Children need at least 6-8 exposures for education to occur. This is our aim, education. If you are looking to check out the service a single trial class is the first step. At the end of this class consult with your educator and secure your first term of 9 classes. For lasting neurological impact 2-3 years of active musical engagement inclusive of literacy is the recognised benchmark.
Do you hold classes on public holidays?
No, we take a break. All term dates are structured to accommodate the Queensland State School calendar.
Do you teach on Student free days?
Yes, please attend classes as usual.
How many classes are in a teaching year?
We offer 36 weeks of class schedule each year. 4 terms of 9 weeks duration.
Do adults or carers attend classes?
Yes, active participation from adults is a vital part of how a child remembers. When you show your love of music by joining in with the children they will connect emotionally and learn quicker. You are your child’s first and most important teacher at every stage.
Classes are guided by our educators and we offer independent participation when the child’s needs for social independence are in high gear. This usually occurs in our Level 4 classes. Parents are encouraged to rejoin the learning process once individual tuition begins, taking notes and paying attention to the homework requirements for success.
Can I enrol after classes have started?
You can enrol anytime for a Music Circle Studios Musicianship and instrumental classes. If we have a place open you are very welcome to attend. Book your class online anytime!
Can we attend a class to see if we like it?
Preview classes are offered through our booking page. A low fee option so you can come along and take part in just one class. We welcome you to join our community sing, dance and play. Explore the service through experience. Come and speak with our teachers and discuss class options while meeting the team and enjoying the music. Open invitations available for all group sessions, individual lessons by appointment.
Which class would best suit my child?
All enrolment options are age guided. 1-14mths Foundation, 1year+ Level 1, 2yrs + Level 2, 3yrs + Level 3, 4yrs + level 4, 5yrs + level 5, Over 5 Musicianship, individual tuition by appointment. There are no hard and fast rules in human development and the specific skill set developed though our classes. Use the age of your child as a guide and work with your educator to make sure the levelling of the class you attend is in line with your child’s needs.
Our main aim is to ensure your class choice allows ease in attendance and an environment that fosters confidence in class participation. Age is just a number. Employees of Music Circle Studios reserve the right to review and discuss class options with each family. Your child’s date of birth is requested at the time of booking.
Do you offer private piano tuition?
Yes, creating musicians who can think in sound is a journey that leads to instrumentation. Once we have the foundations in place individual lessons are offered. The lower age limit is guided by the participation of the parent, the child and instrument availability.
